GENERAL SUMMARY

The Director of Finance position reports directly to the Chief Financial and Operations Officer (CFO/COO) and is responsible for monitoring ISPE’s overall financial performance to include financial statements, general ledger, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable/accounts receivable, budgeting, tax compliance, and various special analyses projects. The Director influences financial decisions by collaborating with the CFO/COO and Senior Leadership in establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures; monitors & confirms financial condition by leading the annual audit process and coordinating information exchange with external auditors. The Director will work directly with the CFO/COO and other Senior Leadership to protect the organization’s assets, ensure compliance with organizational policy, and promote maximum return on ISPE financial assets in the pursuit of ISPE’s strategic plan and goals. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage all accounting operations and systems including but not limited to Financial Statement preparation, GL, Budget, Audit, Tax, A/R, A/P, Payroll, Inventory, and Leases Actively manage cash flow to optimize financial resources and maintain financial stability Drive month-end and year-end close processes Manage Accounting staff Ensure quality control over financial accounting software, transactions, and reporting Communicate regularly with CFO/COO on accounting and finance issues Develop and present financial forecasts to CFO/COO Prepare timely monthly financials for review with CFO/COO and Value Stream Leaders With direction from CEO and CFO/COO, work directly with Value Stream Leaders to development the ISPE annual budget Develop, document, and manage business processes and accounting policies to achieve timely and effective financial operations while maintaining the highest level of internal controls. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings Other duties as assigned EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Professional Accounting designation CPA or CMA Bachelor degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline required, Master of Finance or MBA preferred Minimum 5 years nonprofit accounting experience at Controller or Director of Finance level Minimum 10 years supervisory experience Experience with multiple entity accounting – 501(c)(6), 501(c)(3), Foreign entities Management level experience with creating financial statements and reports Management level experience with G/L functions and the month-end/yr end close process Experience and familiarity with major Association Management, Accounting, Reporting, Budget, and Payroll software packages. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Persuasive, goal-oriented, self-motivated, and self-driven leader Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills Senior level analytical, organizational, and presentation skills Thorough knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles and procedures Ability to engage with C-Level Executives professionally and confidently. Strong analytical and time-management skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a high-performance team. Proficiency in MS Office suite products, Outlook, and TEAMS Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 10%) as needed. Flexibility in work hours, including evenings and weekends when necessary. Ability to travel as needed to conferences, business meetings and training (less than 10%)
