Overview
We are a FTSE 100 company in Education Technology, seeking a visionary Finance Director to lead the Commercial Finance function for a newly created Enterprise sub-business unit within the Enterprise Learning & Skills business. Reporting to the Vice President of Finance for the business unit, you will shape financial strategy, drive performance, and lead finance process transformation in a high-growth, high-visibility part of the organisation. Key Responsibilities
Finance Leadership & Team Building – evolve and grow a high-performing commercial finance team; mentor and inspire finance talent to support operational excellence and strategic thinking. Strategic Planning & Forecasting – lead the development and delivery of the Enterprise BU's strategic and operational financial planning; design and manage robust planning and forecasting cycles; model scenarios with business leaders to align resources with growth initiatives. Commercial & Strategic Business Partnering – act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, influence decisions with data-driven insights; drive commercial analysis on pricing, margins, and profitability; embed financial accountability into operational decision-making. Investment Management – evaluate and manage business cases for strategic investments (new product launches, market expansion, technology initiatives); oversee capital allocation and monitor ROI; provide post-investment reviews. Planning, Forecasting & Performance – own budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning; deliver actionable reporting that links financial outcomes to strategic goals. Finance Process Transformation – design and implement scalable, efficient finance processes; leverage automation and digital tools to improve speed and decision-making. Governance & Risk Management – ensure financial control, compliance, and alignment with group standards and regulatory frameworks. What We’re Looking For
Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) Proven senior finance leadership experience in a commercial, fast-paced environment Demonstrated success in strategic planning, forecasting, and investment appraisal Strong track record of building and developing high-performing teams Skilled at translating complex financial data into strategic business insight Experience leading finance process improvement and digital transformation Background in enterprise technology, B2B services, or a similar sector is a plus Compensation & Benefits
Compensation is influenced by skill set, level of experience, and location. The minimum full-time salary range is between $170,000 - $200,000. This position is eligible to participate in an annual incentive program; details on benefits offered are provided in the employment information. Job Details
