Overview

Recruitment Number 25-222KS, Court Documents Clerk III (Intermediate Court of Appeals), SR-19C ($4,933 per month) to SR-19M ($7,305 per month). The starting salary may be at a rate between the minimum to maximum salary range listed above, based on qualifications. The position is located in the Intermediate Court of Appeals (ICA). The ICA decides appeals originating from the state trial courts and administrative agencies. This position provides confidential administrative and clerical support services to Intermediate Court of Appeals judges and the Intermediate Court of Appeals Staff Attorneys Office. It also works with other ICA staff. The position independently reviews, analyzes, and processes appellate court documents to ensure timely addressing by staff attorneys and resolution by the court. Given the high volume of court filings, this role reviews documents in a timely manner, tracks drafts and orders, files orders with the appellate clerk’s office, and enables efficient ICA operations. It also maintains a database of information regarding motions, orders, and sanctions. It works to ensure compliance with court rules, orders, and procedural requirements; and responds to inquiries and requests from lawyers and the public for information when appropriate, performing other duties as required. Responsibilities

Provide confidential administrative and clerical support to ICA judges and Staff Attorneys Office; coordinate with ICA staff. Independently review, analyze, and process appellate court documents to ensure timely consideration by staff attorneys and resolution by the court. Manage high-volume court filings: review documents promptly, track drafts and orders, file orders with the appellate clerk’s office, and support efficient ICA operations. Maintain a database of information regarding motions, orders, and sanctions; ensure compliance with court rules, orders, and procedural requirements; respond to inquiries from lawyers and the public when appropriate. Perform other duties as required. Qualifications

Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent. Excess experience or work experience that provides the ability to read, comprehend, and apply written directions or strong verbal skills may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis. Specialized Experience: Three (3) years of responsible work experience in the preparation and/or processing of legal papers and documents used in court proceedings (for all levels, at least two years of Specialized Experience must be comparable to Judicial Clerk I or higher). General Experience: Two (2) years of progressively responsible general clerical work experience demonstrating the ability to read, comprehend, and apply written directions. Selective Certification - Typing: Typing/keyboarding skills of 40 net words per minute and/or ability to use typewriters, computers and word processing/software applications.
