Accounts Payable Specialist at Community of Hope. This is a full-time role based in the Washington, DC area. Position Summary
The Accounts Payable Specialist reports directly to the Accounting Team Lead. Salary range is $24.03 - $26.44 per hour; offer amount is determined by candidate's education, qualifications, and experience. This position is classified as Hybrid: Weekly In-Office requirements; candidate must reside in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area. Salary note:

Process daily vendor-related accounts payable requests for payment, including incoming invoices, ensuring expenses are allocated correctly for financial reporting and internal controls are followed. Code all vendor invoices for payment with general ledger account numbers and funding allocations daily. Ensure that all disbursements are approved by the responsible staff member(s). Implement and continue processing accounts payable using both traditional and automated systems. Create new vendor records in the accounting system with supporting documentation (new vendor paperwork, W-9, vendor approval). Serve as the primary contact for vendor relations, handling credits, refunds, billing discrepancies, reconciliations, sales tax issues, and past due notices. Provide secondary support for opening and sorting incoming mail and daily control totals. Other duties as assigned. Requirements
B.S./B.A. or equivalent experience in accounting. Minimum of 4 years of Accounts Payable experience. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Team player, highly organized, able to meet strict deadlines. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks. Discretion and ability to handle highly confidential information. Effective communication with employees and external parties. Experience with Business Central 365 or other accounting software; Microsoft Excel and Word required.
