Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional to join our team as a Senior Software Engineer. This position is with a small, established team based in the DFW area, offering a collaborative and relaxed work environment that fosters innovation. Must be eligible to obtain a US Security Clearance. The primary workplace for this position is Aechelon Technology’s Farmer’s Branch, TX location. United States citizenship required due to restrictions on access to certain data.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain application-level software that simulates airborne radar systems and other sensors for use in a variety of training devices. The software is written in the C programming language on Windows and Linux platforms.
Participate in software design, software implementation, technical documentation, and team collaboration.
Engage in customer interaction, software integration and testing, and task planning and schedule estimating.
Experience
5 years of experience in software development using C/C
Strong understanding of real-time application programming
Expertise in cross-platform development (Windows & Linux)
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong foundation in mathematics and physics
Ability to work with export-controlled technology
Desired Competencies
Technical Expertise: Knowledge of radar technology and signal processing
Experience with OpenGL and graphics application programming
Background in real-time, multi-processing systems
Familiarity with tools for geographic data processing (e.g. KML, vector files, digital elevation models, satellite imagery)
Development Tools & Practices: Experience with defect tracking systems (Bugzilla, Jira)
Proficiency with configuration management tools (Perforce, Git)
Ability to write clear and concise technical documentation
Industry Experience: Prior experience in training and simulation industry
Willingness to adapt in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
