A mission-driven, multi-site organization is seeking a compassionate and visionary
Chief Medical Officer (CMO)
to lead clinical strategy and operations. This executive-level position blends clinical practice with administrative leadership, offering the opportunity to help shape healthcare delivery for underserved populations across Central Massachusetts. The CMO will split responsibilities between
clinical care (60%)
and
administrative leadership (40%) , ensuring high-quality, accessible care while fostering a culture of clinical excellence. Deliver direct patient care to a small panel Supervise medical staff including physicians, advanced practice providers, and clinical directors Guide recruitment, credentialing, and provider onboarding Establish clinical protocols, productivity benchmarks, and performance goals Serve as a member of the executive leadership team Lead integration of medical services with behavioral health, dental, substance use, and support programs Support participation in value-based care models and Medicaid ACO partnerships Contribute to strategic planning, grant proposals, and service expansion Quality & Safety
Lead Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives Chair clinical quality committees and participate in accreditation readiness Ensure adherence to evidence-based standards and continuing medical education Governance & Community Representation
Report quarterly to the Board of Directors on clinical outcomes and operations Represent the organization within community-based health collaboratives Engage in outreach efforts and public health initiatives Conduct evaluations for all clinical staff Develop and oversee training programs, privileging criteria, and staffing models Monitor clinical productivity and support provider well-being Qualifications
Medical Degree (MD or DO) in Family Medicine or Med/Peds Board Certified and licensed (or eligible) in Massachusetts Current DEA and Controlled Substance Licenses ACLS or CPR/AED certification Minimum 5 years’ clinical experience with diverse patient populations Supervisory Scope
