Job Summary: Responsible for providing comprehensive patient care congruent with role and approved population foci (Family/Individual across lifespan, Adult/Gerontology, Neonatal, Pediatrics, Women’s Health/Gender Related, Psychiatric Mental Health) through systemic assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, and follow up affecting direct patient care. Responsibilities

Provide health promotion, assessment, diagnosis, and management of patient problems, including pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions, triage, and therapeutic management across the disease continuum as part of an interdisciplinary team. Practice within approved protocols, guidelines, and clinical pathways; apply evidence-based medicine. Coordinate transitions between inpatient and outpatient settings; manage throughput and provide backup/triage support. Float to multiple facilities, contribute to call coverage as needed, and participate in process improvement activities. Participate in surgical support as needed (First Assist for physicians as credentialed). Obtain medical histories, perform physical examinations, review orders, interpret diagnostic tests, and formulate/adjust treatment plans and outcomes. Provide education to patients and families on care resources; contribute to development and evaluation of care guidelines/protocols and apply research to practice. Ensure accurate billing, coding, and timely completion of medical records and charges. Collaborate with physicians and other providers to ensure safe, high-quality care within budget and departmental goals. Adhere to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards; maintain time, supply, and productivity measures; deliver safe care to patients, staff, and visitors. Pursue ongoing professional growth and development; serve as preceptor, mentor, and resource to colleagues. Qualifications

Nurse Practitioner / Advanced Practice Nurse Education:

Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner program approved by the State of Texas. Master’s required. Specialties may include CRNA, CNM, CNS, CNP. Licenses/Certifications:

Licensed to practice professional nursing in Texas; APRN licensure and eligibility for full prescriptive authority in Texas; certification by a recognized national board in the area of population foci and/or additional specialty recognition; eligibility for DEA licensure; Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Physician Assistant Education:

Graduate of a nationally accredited PA program; Master’s strongly preferred. Licenses/Certifications:

Certification by the NCCPA; Texas licensed by the Texas State Board of Physician Assistant Examiners; eligibility for DEA licensure; Basic Cardiac Life Support or Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Experience / Knowledge / Skills:

Two (2) years of clinical experience preferred in area of intended practice; First Assist and/or EVD experience preferred. Additional Information
