Overview
Therapist - 890 Men's Residential Services at HealthRIGHT 360. The program serves male-identifying clients with residential treatment for substance use disorder (SUD) for up to 90 days, supported by a team of behavioral health professionals providing counseling, education, and therapy. They work collaboratively with a team consisting of SUD Counselors and SUD Supervisors to provide insight, direction, and oversight of Drug Medi-Cal (DMC) services. The role includes delivering individual and group therapy, maintaining a safe, supportive, confidential, culturally competent, and trauma-informed program environment. Key Responsibilities
Individual Treatment Responsibilities
Manages an individual therapy caseload Performs individual psychotherapy services in a residential setting Provides counseling, support and psycho-education for individuals with co-occurring disorders, including screening, assessments, treatment planning, case management, and referrals Maintains confidentiality while working as part of a treatment team and adhering to program norms Participates in case conferences, treatment planning and clinical discussions to provide holistic care Communicates with prescribing psychiatrists regarding psychotropic medication compliance, side effects, and follow-up appointments Treatment Setting Responsibilities
Facilitates or co-facilitates process and psycho-educational groups for chronically mentally ill adults with co-morbid substance use Assists Intake Department with initial psychological assessments for admissions Assists clients and care coordinators with referrals and linkages to community resources Performs floor duties in the milieu, coordinating outside appointments, transportation, activities, medication compliance, and conflict mediation Collaborates with the treatment team to assess and refine clinical programming Manages client risk and crisis intervention On-call after-hours pager rotation and Therapist of the Day responsibilities during business hours Attends staff and agency meetings and required trainings Complies with license registrations/renewals as required Documentation Responsibilities
Conducts assessments, completes ANSAs, treatment plans, releases, consents, and billing/reporting paperwork Completes Medicare and Medi-Cal documentation and billing Documents services in electronic systems per guidelines to satisfy internal and external evaluations Other Responsibilities
Conducts mental health assessments and follows up with clients and treatment counselors Identifies treatment needs, recommends plans, and ensures requirements are met Provides diagnostic feedback to support appropriate levels of care Monitors client conduct, records activity, and informs colleagues of challenges Provides crisis assessment and intervention as needed Maintains ethical boundaries with clients and families Facilitates access to mental health services on-site and in the community Coordinates referrals and follow-ups with health agencies Coordinates discharge planning with the client’s care coordinator Facilitates psychoeducational groups on topics including CBT, Seeking Safety, DBT, and coping with stress triggers Monitors and maintains EMR reports and ensures timely clinical documentation Qualifications
Education, Certification, and Experience Master’s degree in counseling, social work, or related field Current Behavioral Board of Sciences (BBS) registration from an accredited institution (AMFT, APCC, ACSW) in California First Aid and CPR certification Valid California driver’s license Experience with substance abuse treatment preferred We will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.
