The Sr Manager, Project Management Office (PMO) leads a team that designs, implements, trains and utilizes processes and tools serving the technology team of Dal-Tile and collaborates on these at the global level as part of the Mohawk PMO team. This role ensures PMO analysts and program managers leverage creativity and a comprehensive operational understanding to resolve a wide range of business issues. The Sr Manager PMO directs strategic, long-range and highly complex diverse projects that span the organization, cross business unit boundaries, and have direct and high organizational impact. This role also owns the responsibility for technology portfolio intake, assessment, decisioning and prioritization as well as funding processes in support of work. In addition to portfolio and project responsibilities, the Sr Manager will oversee team and department financials, SOX compliance processes and coordinate all technology team and business leadership meetings related to portfolio management, process efficiency and tool training.
Responsibilities
Oversee large cross-functional projects or processes. Direct strategic, long-range, highly complex diverse projects that span the organization, cross business unit boundaries, and have direct and/or high organizational impact. Ensure that project goals are accomplished and aligned with business objectives; manage the team that develops and carries out internal IS projects; monitor project activities, ensuring currency, quality, and integrity of the information, and providing consistency in content and “look and feel” across the enterprise. Confer with Relationship Managers, Infrastructure Directors, BU CIO, user community, and technologists to translate business goals into concrete strategic and tactical plans for addressing business needs. Oversee the development of proposals/requests for proposal related to technology tools and processes. Lead the PMO analytics and program management team to develop detailed project plans and milestones, technical status, and critical dates to identify potential jeopardy of project schedule; resolve political, resource, budgeting and change issues affecting the project. Proactively investigate and/or lead investigations of alternative approaches, technologies, or partnerships. Collaborate with and may lead functional or cross-functional teams to generate solutions to complex problems. Coordinate with PMO analysts, program managers and the IT controller to ensure forecasts and actuals are aligned. Lead the IT organization in completion of SOX requirements, working with auditors and service providers to continuously improve accuracy and efficiency. Perform other duties as needed.
Required Experience and Education
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience. 8-10 years’ relevant experience or equivalent education and/or experience. 4-6 years of management experience. Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) preferred. Mentor, lead, coach and manage a team of both direct (employee) and indirect (contractor) contributors; performance manage employees in support of organizational objectives and individual career development. Gain an understanding of broader organizational context and goals for application to technology deliveries. Able to delegate work effectively to team members; ensures tasks are completed without micromanaging. Focused on and responsible for their team's productivity and collective impact. Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills. Able to multitask, prioritize, delegate, and manage time effectively. High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data. Flexible attitude, adaptable to change, team player, and able to handle multiple projects at once. High degree of professionalism, judgment, maturity, and resourcefulness in the absence of formalized guidelines and procedures.
