JOB SUMMARY UT Southwestern is actively seeking an experienced

Senior Project Manager

to join our

Planning, Design, and Construction

team. We\'re looking for someone

with a strong background in project management for construction of hospital and/or academic research facilities .

As Senior Project Manager of Hospital Facilities Construction, you will manage complex capital facility projects greater than $10 million. Responsible for overall project management to include budgets, change orders, schedule, contractor GMPs and quality control in compliance with industry and institutional standards. Manages the design and construction teams on the successful completion and occupancy of campus construction. Reviews hospital facilities, plans and executes work required by the hospital. Makes recommendations for capital replacements. Addresses and manages critical issues impacting project quality and safety.

Work Location : Dallas Campus; onsite 100% of time, may or may not require travel to and from other UTSW facilities throughout DFW metro area.

Shift Requirement : Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Required

Education

Bachelor\'s Degree in related field.

Extensive experience may be used in lieu of degree.

Experience

8 years project management experience or equivalent experience.

Prior construction project management experience.

Advanced degree may be used in lieu of years of experience.

Preferred

Experience

Design and Construction experience with academic healthcare and/or research facilities and/or project management/construction management experience with a focus in healthcare, academic, and/or research facilities.

JOB DUTIES

In collaboration with senior management owners and stakeholders from various departments, manage and define project scope, goals and deliverables that support customers goals and the mission of the university; coordinate the development of full-scale project plans and associated communications documents; communicate effectively project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.

Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders; delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel; identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team in collaboration with senior management; identify and manage project dependencies and critical paths.

Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools; track project milestones and deliverables; develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations.

Build, develop and grow any relationships vital to the success of the project. Mentor other project managers.

Conduct post project reviews and create recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.

Supervise and/or mentor staff in performance of duties. Provide on-site leadership for project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones

Full project life cycle ownership: successful project delivery will include full implementation from initiation to deployment for one major or several minor initiatives simultaneously

Manage all aspects of multiple related projects to ensure the overall program is aligned to and directly supports the achievement of strategic objectives

Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the organization

Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks and issues

Participate and/or drive feasibility studies, vendor selections and proposals for evaluation by appropriate key stakeholders

Act as an internal quality control check for the project

Ensure that projects and programs are proceeding according to scope, schedule, budget and quality standards

Manage project and program issues and risks to mitigate impact to baseline

Performs other duties as assigned.
