Enterprise Governance Architect – AI and Cloud Architecture
– Columbia Bank The Enterprise Architect requires competency in one key technological area of the bank and works with other architects to develop and review designs for information systems in alignment with the bank’s goals, needs, and objectives. This role leads the design, integration, and governance of enterprise cloud and AI architectures, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy, scalability, and regulatory and security requirements. Advisory and Collaboration: Act as an advisor to all technology groups and the bank, collaborating with all levels up to executive management on technology direction and business goals. Drive adoption of secure, scalable cloud solutions (Azure, etc.) aligned with business needs. EA Patterns and Frameworks: Create EA patterns and antipatterns. Develop and maintain enterprise cloud and AI architecture standards, models, and governance frameworks. Develop and maintain enterprise cloud reference architectures and AI solution patterns. Strategy and Roadmap Ownership: Own the development and alignment of technology strategy and roadmap within a defined domain. Lead AI architecture initiatives, including integration of machine learning, natural language processing, and generative AI capabilities. Research and Development: Stay engaged in industry and technology trends. Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption strategies for cloud and AI capabilities. Maintain active research on current and emerging technologies. Produce enterprise technology radar classifications (Hold, Assess, Trial, Adopt). Requirements Definition: Understand user and process requirements and translate them into enterprise architecture designs aligned with Enterprise Architecture Principles. Product and Solution Delivery & Integration: Collaborate with application, solution, and technology architects to ensure alignment of business and data architecture. Support modernization and migration strategies, including hybrid and multi-cloud deployments. Industry and Brand Stewardship: Participate in industry events, publish white papers, host webinars, and contribute to advancing the company’s technology brand. Mentorship: Provide leadership and mentorship in best practices and patterns across Teams. Additional corporate-wide functions: Demonstrates compliance with bank regulations, keeps up to date on regulatory changes, follows policies and required training, maintains knowledge of relevant regulations, mentors others, and champions Columbia corporate culture. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience, required. Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience, preferred. Certification as an Architect in Azure, AWS, or GCP, preferred. 10+ years of experience in analysis, design, development, or application deployment, required. 4+ years of experience as an EA, AI, or Cloud architect, required. Competent in reviewing system and application designs to ensure alignment with business strategy. Strong organizational skills to identify and address architectural issues. In-depth knowledge of the bank’s key technology areas and how hardware, software, and telecommunications components impact the environment. Hands-on experience with cloud environments (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP). Familiarity with Enterprise Architecture Frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, BIAN) and Well-Architected Cloud Frameworks. Proficiency with contingency and disaster recovery procedures. Collaborative and able to build effective partnerships with technical and non-technical leaders. Demonstrated leadership and the ability to grow the next generation of architects. Ability to foresee risks and communicate/mitigate accordingly. Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey business value of technology. Job Location

Discretionary travel as needed to fulfill essential functions. Benefits
We offer a competitive total rewards package including base wages and comprehensive benefits. The pay range for this role is $116,647.72 - $180,000.00, with selection dependent on knowledge, skills, experience, education, and location. The role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation.
