Overview

Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband network connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. In this role as a Software Development Engineer (SDE), you will be part of the core technical team building the ground-based traffic processing pipelines for connecting Kuiper’s satellite network to the external world. This opportunity enables you to architect and build software from the ground up and drive the engineering culture of the team. Key responsibilities

You will develop code, build CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and dashboards for monitoring health of systems and data pipelines. You will work with multiple cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design, develop, deploy, and operate the infrastructure you build. You will develop and mentor junior and new team members. You will engineer and build a cloud service that is reliable and available to provide connectivity for our customers. You will work on features that enhance the quality of service and security for our customers. You will collaborate across multiple teams to build networking functions on AWS cloud infrastructure and set best practices for software development processes. About the Team

Kuiper Network’s goal is to connect users around the world by establishing networks and services that enable customer terminals and applications to interface with the larger world. The Network Services team designs and develops network functions that serve user needs, taking an end-user perspective as we build reliable services. Basic Qualifications

3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems Experience programming with at least one software programming language Preferred Qualifications

3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent Knowledge of professional software engineering and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence Export Control
