Overview
Withum’s Private Client Services Tax Manager position is based out of our Baltimore, MD or Washington, D.C. offices. You will work alongside an integrated team of seasoned CPAs and industry leaders, taking a lead role on all aspects of tax engagements, supervising staff, and building/maintaining client relationships. Withum’s Tax Services Group provides services across Business, Individual, State & Local tax, R&D Tax Credit, as well as International and Private Client services. The compensation for this position ranges from $105,000 – $170,000 for Washington, DC. Final offer amounts are based on location, role, and the individual’s skills and qualifications. Reviewing individual, trust, partnership and corporate tax returns prepared by tax staff and/or seniors for accuracy Researching and drafting memoranda involving complex tax matters Identifying and implementing tax planning opportunities Handling and resolving tax controversies Overseeing complete tax research projects for a variety of clients and diverse industries Managing multiple engagements concurrently with various teams to efficiently meet client deadlines Conducting constructive discussions with team members on their evaluations and providing counsel accordingly Serving in professional development programs as an instructor or discussion leader Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting and CPA license, JD or a Master of Science in Taxation At least 5 years of prior experience in a public accounting tax department, with experience leading multiple engagements and supervising staff Excellent analytical and technical tax skills Exceptional client service and communication skills with the ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing projects in a fast-paced, results-based team environment Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills Excellent analytical, organizational, project management skills, and strong attention to detail Location and Employment Details
