Manages a portfolio of R&D projects using applied scientific and engineering principles in the area of advanced engineering and manufacturing technologies with both internal and external partners. Proposes new research activities and leads teams of cross-functional direct and/or indirect researchers in the execution of research activities. Areas include, but are not limited to, design and manufacture of battery cells and components, efficiency improvement using ML/AI methodologies, emerging manufacturing technologies, semiconductors, and quantum computing. Uses Subject Matter Expertise (SME) and industry knowledge to help develop research strategies. Key Accountabilities

Lead all aspects of research projects and independently manage technical program resources including leading direct and/or indirect reports while maintaining leading knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories. Builds the capability of less experienced team members. As a Subject Matter Expert, fosters development of new research areas, proposing and leading all aspects of new activities independently. Within assigned R&D activities, identify root causes of highly technical and multidisciplinary problems and develop plans, designs, test systems, materials, techniques and processes to achieve objectives. Workstyle

Should be able to work in office at least 4 business days per week at the Honda ADC, Raymond, OH. One fixed remote workday per week may be possible, with prior departmental approval. Qualifications, Experience and Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Majors: Computer Engineering/Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronics/Applied Physics/Computational Mathematics/Quantum Mechanics, etc.) 8+ years of relevant experience Passion for research, solving hard problems, and challenging the status quo. Semiconductor manufacturing experience. Testing and validation Specifying requirements for semiconductor devices and components Setting up and validation of optimization simulations Multi-physics simulations Project management including development of SOW with external partners, and maintenance of budget and deliverable schedules. Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams Confidently make autonomous decisions bounded by the research mission and understanding of the company business model. Clearly communicate new research and technology concepts and ideas to technical team members and management. Scientifically analyze data provided from tests and experiments to gather knowledge and understanding of the subject of research. Oversee overall research project schedule, budget, and direction. Familiarity with photolithography, semiconductor assembly and packaging Familiarity with various IC architectures Familiarity in developing ML/AI workflows, agentic models Experience with quantum computing simulations Experience in simulation of quantum computers. Total Rewards
