Overview
Research Consultant - Investment Banking and Private Equity: Our client, a highly regarded middle-market investment bank, is growing its Technology practice and seeking a Vice President to join the San Francisco team. This group is at the forefront of advising software, digital infrastructure, and broader technology companies on transformative transactions. The VP will play a central role in transaction execution, client coverage, and mentoring junior bankers, while working closely with senior leadership on new business initiatives. This role is ideal for a proven investment banker who thrives in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment and wants to take on greater leadership responsibility within a high-performing platform. What You’ll Do
Deal Execution
– Lead the day-to-day management of M&A and capital raising processes across the technology sector. Client Engagement
– Partner with Managing Directors to develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate executives, founders, and private equity sponsors. Strategic Analysis
– Drive valuation work, build and review complex financial models, and oversee due diligence efforts. Presentation & Marketing
– Craft compelling materials including pitch decks, offering memoranda, and board-level presentations. Team Leadership
– Guide Associates and Analysts in their professional development, ensuring high-quality work and strong collaboration. Market Insight
– Stay on top of sector trends, emerging technologies, and competitive dynamics to provide thought leadership to clients. What We’re Looking For
4+ years of investment banking experience with significant exposure to Technology M&A. Strong technical toolkit: advanced modeling and valuation (DCF, LBO, comps, precedents). Track record of managing live transactions from start to finish. Exceptional communication skills and the ability to present ideas to C-suite executives and boards. Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. A strong team orientation combined with entrepreneurial drive. Seniority level
