Overview
Telehealth Nurse (On-Site in DC) – Goldberg Pediatric Health Center – $25,000 Sign-on Bonus Role: Telehealth Nurse providing telephonic clinical assessment, advice, health education and counseling with appropriate clinical disposition and referrals. Works with the Children’s National Hospital system to deliver telehealth nursing care using telecommunication devices and electronic tools. Responsibilities
Provide telehealth nursing care: assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation of outcomes using the nursing process. Deliver culturally sensitive, age-specific care to identified populations. Assess and document visits via telehealth platforms; document caller encounters in the system. Manage calls/emails with appropriate triage and disposition, including handling calls when the computer system is down. Use clinical decision support tools and standard triage guidelines. Maintain compliance with department standards and call/email management procedures. Achieve telehealth and other applicable national certifications as required. Qualifications
Minimum Education:
BSN (Required) Minimum Work Experience:
5 years RN experience (Required) Required Skills/Knowledge:
Registered Nurse; able to complete hospital and nursing orientation; basic computer skills (Windows, word processing) and 30 wpm typing; ability to handle multiple phone lines; clinical knowledge in disease prevention, wellness, health risk assessment, self-care management and health education; strong communication and collaboration skills; knowledge of internal and external resources; safety reporting and clinical documentation. Required Licenses and Certifications:
Registered Nurse in District of Columbia (Required); RN licensed in DC, MD or VA depending on location; CPR (Required); Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN) (Required) Functional Accountabilities:
