Overview

Under moderate supervision of the Principal Investigator or Manager, the Clinical Research Coordinator I is responsible for a variety of activities in support of clinical research studies. Responsibilities include recruiting and evaluating patients for studies; collecting and organizing patient data; scheduling patients for study visits; maintaining and updating data generated by the study and IRB applications. Responsibilities

Provide assistance on clinical research studies as per study guidelines and protocols. Manage Institutional Review Board submissions and other regulatory forms, adhering to study startup timelines. Assist with the development of informed consent documents, source documents, and related materials. Recruit and evaluate potential study patients; conduct telephone interviews or schedule visits and screenings per protocol. Interact with patients regarding study participation, including education, procedural instructions, and follow-up; may serve as a liaison between patient and physician. Collect data and maintain patient information databases; input data, perform minimum analyses, and generate reports; maintain patient records. Understand and communicate all components of research documents (protocol, informed consent, investigator brochure, research instructions). Mail study information or packets to participants; answer phone inquiries and refer participants to investigators. Monitor and set up required equipment; coordinate with study monitors and respond to queries; document visits in the electronic health record (EPIC) per policy. Maintain inventory and order supplies; contribute to a research team environment, back-up coordination for other studies, cross-training and mentoring, and participate in research meetings. Education Bachelor's Degree in Science required Experience in lieu of degree: Yes Licenses and Credentials Experience Some relevant research project work 0-1 year preferred Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Careful attention to detail and good organizational skills. Ability to follow directions. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Computer literacy; working knowledge of clinical research protocols. Ability to demonstrate respect and professionalism for subjects' rights and individual needs.
