Overview
AWS Worldwide Public Sector (WWPS) is seeking an AWS Specialist Solutions Architects (SSAs) for Container Services. SSAs are technologists with deep domain-specific expertise, able to address advanced concepts and feature designs. You will provide technical expertise to help grow the adoption of a portfolio of services that includes Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service, Amazon Elastic Container Registry, and AWS App Mesh. As part of this team, you will help shape the future of the container industry. SSAs work with customers who have complex challenges that require expert-level knowledge to solve. SSAs craft scalable, flexible, and resilient technical architectures that address those challenges. This may involve guiding customers as they refactor an application or designing entirely new cloud-based systems.
Responsibilities
Helping U.S. Federal Civilian Government organizations implement innovative cloud computing solutions and solve technical problems.
Owning the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific implementation projects.
Defining implementation architectures, responding to RFPs, developing deep expertise in AWS technologies and how applications and services are built on the AWS platform.
Representing the voice of the customer; bringing customer feedback to product teams to influence feature development and future product roadmap.
Providing advanced technical knowledge to domain-aligned GTM teams to unblock critical customer challenges.
Acting as a thought leader by sharing best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures, and public-speaking events (e.g., AWS Summit, AWS re:Invent).
Developing and supporting an AWS internal community of technical subject matter experts; creating field enablement materials for the broader SA population.
Basic Qualifications
3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures.
5+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in software or Internet industries.
4+ years of experience in specific technology domains (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in software development or Internet-related industries.
Experience migrating or transforming legacy solutions to the cloud.
Experience with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective.
Intermediate/advanced knowledge of AWS services.
5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience.
5+ years of experience designing, implementing, and managing Kubernetes environments at scale.
Proven experience architecting containerized applications and microservices architectures.
Strong DevOps background with CI/CD pipeline implementation using Kubernetes.
Experience managing multiple Kubernetes clusters and Kubernetes security, networking, and storage concepts.
Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Helm) for Kubernetes deployments.
Experience troubleshooting complex distributed systems and container-based applications.
Experience working within the Federal Government and understanding of infrastructure and security requirements (e.g., FedRAMP Moderate/High, HIPAA, DoD SRG, CJIS).
Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $204,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on factors including market location and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company; depending on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other components may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
