Overview The Boeing Company has an exciting opportunity for a
Data Science and Analytics Senior Manager
with the Corporate Audit Leadership Development Program. The selected candidate will
virtually
support the Corporate Audit’s Strategic Business Hubs. Our Strategic Business Hubs are located across the United States in: Renton, WA; Seattle, WA; Everett, WA; Berkeley, MO; Hazelwood, MO; and Plano, TX.
As a Data Science and Analytics Senior Manager, you will be a member of Boeing’s Corporate Audit Data Analytics Team, a national team covering a wide range and scope of audit activities. You will assist Corporate Audit in accomplishing its objectives by bringing a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of Boeing’s governance, risk management and internal control environment by providing oversight to the team’s data and automation support to perform independent evaluations of the adequacy and effectiveness of Boeing’s production, finance, operations, compliance and technology functions.

Position Responsibilities
Team management: Oversee a team of data scientists, architects, and engineers that work on AI and AWS initiatives.
Run daily team operations: Manage priorities, ensure timely delivery, and progress of planned work using a modified Scrum framework.
Enhance the platform: Develop a roadmap with architects, data scientists, leads, and SMEs; lead design and execution of roadmap goals.
Collaborate with Peer Teams: Contribute to architecture decisions and facilitate cross-team collaboration for operational efficiency and platform stability.
Collaborate with Development Teams: Ensure effective communication, dependency management, and cross-team project tracking with focus on security, cost efficiency, stability, and operational maturity.
Foster a culture of service ownership: Promote ownership from inception to production health and stability.
Build, Mentor, and Lead: Oversee and develop a team of data scientists and engineers with focus on DevOps, engineering excellence, and career development.
Team Responsibilities
Evaluate advanced analytics problems into technical approaches yielding actionable recommendations
Design anomaly detection models and continuous monitoring solutions
Choose methods, define algorithms, validate, and deploy models to achieve business results
Perform exploratory data analysis, test hypotheses, and uncover meaningful trends
Create production-quality ML/AI models deployable at scale
Leverage AWS technologies in solution development and develop new capabilities
Communicate technical details to business stakeholders
Support identification, development, and automation of risk assessment metrics for the annual audit plan
Identify themes, trends, and emerging risks for the company
Develop and maintain partnerships within cross-functional teams (Data Engineers, Product Owners, BI Analysts)
Exercise critical thinking and innovative problem solving
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
Bachelor’s degree or higher
5+ years of experience managing projects with engineers and data professionals, focusing on NLP and ML on unstructured data
Experience with data querying languages (SQL), scripting languages (Python), and/or statistical software (R)
Experience with AWS resources, configuration, deployment, and architecture
Strong problem-solving and communication skills; ability to explain complex concepts to business stakeholders
Experience with data preparation methods and ML algorithms; experience across the full DS process from discovery to deployment
Experience developing tools using Large Language Models (LLMs) and optimizing code for efficiency
Experience working with cross-functional teams at all levels
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
Bachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative field
1+ years of experience with AWS
Experience in aerospace manufacturing operations or manufacturing support
Experience in technology, manufacturing, or finance
Experience leading analytics teams
Experience with scripting, data structures, and algorithms
Experience developing Data Science solutions in a cross-functional team
Experience in regulated environments (aerospace, defense, financial services)
Fluency in Python and production-level code experience
Other Requirements Export Control Requirements: This position must meet export control compliance requirements. A “U.S. Person” is defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 and includes U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, or asylees.
