Save Job

Our Mission

Casium is building the

fastest, most comprehensive business immigration solution . We bring together human expertise and AI innovation to help companies secure top global talent with speed, clarity, and compliance. Talent is global. But the immigration system wasn’t built for speed, clarity, or scale. Founders wait months to start companies. Engineers lose job offers to visa delays. HR teams drown in compliance paperwork. We’re rebuilding immigration from the ground up using AI, automation, and expert legal oversight - to make filing for a visa as seamless as signing an offer letter. Why it matters

Immigration is not just paperwork - it’s access. Access to jobs, teams, opportunity. For companies, delays mean lost hires. For individuals, it can mean the end of a dream. We’ve already helped dozens of companies identify how to hire the top talent they want, retain key engineers, and unlock new markets—all while reducing legal spend by 30–50%. We are the bridge between great talent and the opportunities they deserve. Our customers

We serve top-tier talent and teams, including startup founders from the AI2 Incubator, talent from Meta, Microsoft, and Amazon, and VC-backed companies hiring global operators. We’ve had

zero customer churn

to date and our customers consistently tell us Casium is the best immigration experience they’ve ever had. We’ve built a reputation for speed, transparency, and care and it shows in our word-of-mouth growth and extremely high approval record to date. We’re just getting started and the demand is already outpacing what we can build. Our investors

We’re well funded and backed by world-class investors and operators across AI, SaaS, and global mobility who believe the future of innovation depends on global talent and that Casium will power it. If you want to build fast, own your work end-to-end, and make a real impact on real people’s lives, we’d love to talk. We’re hiring across engineering, legal ops, and growth. Reach out. We’ll show you what we’re building. About the Role

We’re looking for a

Founding Generalist Engineer

to join Casium at the ground floor. This is a high-ownership role focused on core systems architecture, backend infrastructure, and product logic. We\'re solving one of the most complex and high-stakes problems in tech: helping extraordinary people navigate a broken immigration system using software, not spreadsheets. You’ll work directly with our founders, attorneys, and AI researchers to architect the systems that power Casium. If you’ve ever thought,

“why does this still work like it’s 1998?”

when working with an employer to file for a visa or dealing with legal software, we feel you, and we’re rebuilding it from first principles. This is a rare opportunity to build foundational tech for an industry that impacts millions of lives but has seen almost no real innovation. What You’ll Own

Architect and build our core backend systems : case pipeline logic, customer workflow infra, document storage and versioning, event systems, and compliance safeguards.

Design a structured schema

for immigration petitions, evidence generation, and multi-stakeholder collaboration (clients, lawyers, reviewers, employers).

Build and scale AI-powered workflows

for legal document preparation, expert review, and petition quality control.

Interface deeply with LLMs, task queues, and decision engines

to replace repetitive manual legal work with deterministic and probabilistic automation.

Collaborate across legal, product, and engineering

to turn messy policy and paperwork into clean abstractions that scale.

Create internal platforms and developer tools

to help our team ship high-quality code, faster, safely.

What We’re Looking For

6–10+ years

of professional software engineering experience with deep backend chops and a generalist mindset.

Proven experience designing and scaling backend architectures in production (bonus if in regulated or high-trust domains like healthcare, finance, or legal).

Comfort working with Python (FastAPI, Pydantic, SQLAlchemy), and Cloud environment such as AWS. We value pragmatism over stack purity.

Experience building systems that combine human input + AI/ML outputs in reliable, testable ways.

High agency and a strong product sense, you know when to slow down for correctness and when to ship scrappy.

Thoughtful communicator. Clear written reasoning and clean architectural thinking matter more here than hot takes or whiteboard ping-pong.

Startup experience or founder energy - you want to own outcomes, not just ship tickets.

Why Casium

We’re building something that matters.

Immigration is deeply broken - opaque, expensive, exclusionary. We help the people who build the future stay in the country legally, and we’re doing it with a full-stack, tech-forward approach.

The market is huge and underserved.

Business immigration is a massive market. We’ve already proven demand with real revenue and rapidly growing customer base.

We’re early, but de-risked.

Casium is backed by the AI2 Incubator, led by experienced operators, and well-funded by top-tier angels and VCs. You’ll get real equity with real upside.

You’ll shape the company.

As a founding engineer, your fingerprints will be on our culture, tech stack, and the company’s trajectory. This is not a backseat role.

You’ll work on genuinely hard and novel problems

- not yet-another CRUD app.

You’ll join a team of builders.

We are ex-Meta, Microsoft, and LegalPad, a founding team that cares deeply about output and impact.

Access to unique learning opportunities . With the Allen Institute for AI (AI2) Incubator as a co-founder, our team gets access to numerous talks by leading AI researchers/paper authors, knowledge sharing amongst the community of hundreds of engineers working for AI2 companies, and much more. As a part of the multi-disciplinary team, you get to interact with people from very different backgrounds (from legal to AI to software engineers).

Why You

Shouldn’t

Join Us

You need a PM to hand you specs. You won’t get one.

You want predictable work and tight lanes. We’re still inventing the map.

You don’t like talking to users or thinking in first principles.

“Fast, high-quality, end-to-end shipping” sounds like a slogan, not a lifestyle.
