Overview
Software Systems Architect role at L3Harris Technologies. Location: Tampa, FL or Melbourne, FL. Job schedule: 9/80 (employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours and every other Friday off). This position supports development of electronic warfare software systems and solutions. Responsibilities
Interface with end users, customers, and stakeholders to understand, gather, interpret, and document requirements for Electronic Warfare data management systems. Develop software and systems architectures using Model Based Systems Engineering tools (e.g., Cameo Systems Modeler) to describe candidate systems for bidding and execution. Communicate concepts clearly to users and stakeholders with varying technical backgrounds. Create Technical Baseline Reviews and support Basis of Estimate activities. Author technical proposals and deliverables; promote and represent L3Harris Technologies. Lead, manage, and mentor teams of full-stack software engineers; develop architecture and high-level designs; design private cloud deployment architecture. Decompose software requirements into actionable items; mentor engineers on software design principles. Travel internationally (10-25%) to meet end-users, customers, and stakeholders; obtain a US security clearance if required. Collaborate with systems engineering, end users, and other disciplines to shape requirements and architect solutions for EW data management. Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in Software Engineering; or graduate degree with at least 10 years of related experience; or 16 years of related experience without a degree. Preferred: experience with AI/ML in the EW domain; prior tactical/operational experience in a technical intelligence discipline; ability to work with customers in Asia and the Middle East; knowledge of secure solutions, zero-trust patterns, encryption, PKI, cross-domain solutions; ability to develop system requirements, use cases, concepts of operation, and architectural views for customers and implementers; strong problem-solving, analytical, and creative skills; experience with EW disciplines (ESM, Electronic Attack, Electronic Counter Measures, Electronic Protection) and EW databases for reprogramming ESM systems; ability to lead POCs and prototypes using COTS hardware and various languages; proficiency with Windows and Linux; networking expertise across multiple regimes (Internet, SATCOM, tactical radio, sensitive/closed networks); ability to architect solutions using product lines and technologies; understanding of SOA, microservices, cloud architectures, and related patterns; ability to design reliable, scalable databases and data processing systems; capability to define system and service-level APIs; familiarity with commercial server architectures for hardware specs.
