Overview

Electrical Engineer position related to capital improvement projects and maintenance programs for electrical equipment and instrumentation & control systems, including transformers, motors, switchgears, and communication systems. Role involves asset management, capital planning, and safety initiatives following the National Electric Code (NEC). Responsibilities

Manage capital improvement projects and maintenance programs for electrical equipment and instrumentation & control systems. Participate in asset management, capital planning, and safety initiatives following NEC. Perform professional engineering work involving the design, investigation, and construction of engineering projects (streets, bridges, mechanical systems, utility plants, buildings and other projects as assigned). Provide complex professional assistance to an Engineering Supervisor or other management personnel. Minimum Qualifications (KSAs)

Knowledge Of : Engineering and technology related to the assigned area (structural, mechanical, electrical, civil, geotechnical, etc.); code references; safety standards; project funding processes; customer service practices. Skill To : operate computer equipment and software (Microsoft Office, project management software, ArcGIS, AutoCAD Civil 3D, analytic/scientific software), and drive a motor vehicle in the course of duty. Ability To : exercise professional engineering judgment; interpret plans; perform calculations; analyze information; develop and maintain databases/maps; communicate clearly in writing and orally; manage budgets and schedules; supervise subordinate workers; manage construction projects and contractors. Required Education And Experience

Senior Engineer: Must be a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Ohio or in a state with equivalent registration requirements. If not registered in Ohio on appointment, Ohio registration must be obtained during probationary period. Salary range: $85,737.96–$115,224.65 annually. Engineer: Must be enrolled as a Senior in a Bachelor's Degree program in engineering or possess a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an accredited college or university, or possess an Engineer-in-Training Certificate. Salary range: $67,019.43–$90,068.51 annually. Other Requirements

Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Driver's License. For Senior Engineer: possess registration with the State of Ohio as a Professional Engineer (or equivalent). For Engineer: possession of Bachelor's Degree in engineering or current enrollment as Senior; or Engineer-in-Training Certificate. Working and Physical Conditions

Environmental: Indoor and outdoor environments; exposure to weather, dust, exhaust, toxic chemicals; work around heavy equipment and moving vehicles; possible work below ground or on ladders/scaffolds. Physical: Able to sit/stand/walk for prolonged periods; manual dexterity; lifting; operate assigned vehicle. EEO and Benefits (Summary)
