Overview The Permanente Medical Group is seeking a Vascular Surgeon for the South Bay Vascular Group based at Santa Clara and San Jose Medical Center.

Expertise in advanced endovascular and open vascular surgery with the flexibility to work at multiple medical centers within the South Bay Vascular Surgery service area.

Collaborative practice with a group of 4 other Vascular Surgeons at Kaiser Santa Clara and Kaiser San Jose, with an additional clinic in Scotts Valley Medical Office and expansion of Vascular Surgery coverage to Northern Monterey Bay. All work is shared equally among 5 surgeons. Surgeons rotate between two hospitals within a 20-minute drive, dedicating 60% of time at Santa Clara and 40% at San Jose.

Kaiser San Jose is expected to complete construction on a new hospital in 2029 with access to three fixed imaging suites with hybrid capabilities.

Kaiser San Jose is a regional spine and hepatobiliary center where vascular surgery plays an integral role.

Kaiser Santa Clara is a busy quaternary referral center with a high-volume cardiac program, regional ECMO/LVAD program, and surgical oncology program. Vascular Surgery collaborates with cardiac surgery for complex thoracic aortic/arch work, with interventional cardiology for structural heart work, and with surgical oncology.

Vascular Surgeons have access to a fixed imaging suite 24/7 with a dedicated call team.

Santa Clara is a regional complex open and endovascular aortic and carotid center.

Collaborative limb salvage program with podiatry teams.

IAC-accredited Vascular Lab at both facilities.

PA support at San Jose inpatient and Santa Clara outpatient locations.

Stanford resident coverage at Santa Clara inpatient facility.

Teaching opportunities for surgical residents and medical students from Stanford University and Boston University.

Affiliated clinical appointment at Stanford University for resident teaching.

Outcome research possible utilizing extensive EMR data through the Department of Research.

No General Surgery Call. No Trauma.

Vascular Surgery controls the endovascular space with no competition from other specialties.

Vascular Surgery Night call: 1 in 5 nights; Weekend call: 1 in 5 weekends; Day call: 1 in 5 weeks.

Anticipated start date: Summer/Fall 2026.

Compensation Full-time annual starting salary is $394,829, with additional potential incentives up to $60,950. Total cash compensation plus company-paid benefits is approximately $614,000.
