Project Finance & Development Senior Analyst
Valta Energy LLC is a full-suite solar developer and independent power producer that finances, acquires, develops, owns, and operates distributed generation solar energy projects. Founded in 2009 and headquartered in Dana Point, CA. Valta has developed over 100MW of solar + storage assets across the US, with a focus in the Northeast US and California.
Overview Valta Energy is seeking a Project Finance & Development Senior Analyst to support our project finance strategy to fund the development of renewable energy projects across the US. This role will provide experience in the growing distributed solar generation industry and will help structure, negotiate, execute, and manage project and corporate-level financings, including structured debt and tax equity transactions. The Senior Analyst will assist in investment decision-making with senior leadership throughout the development life cycle.
Responsibilities
Create and analyze financial models for individual projects and portfolios of distributed generation solar systems
Support the structuring and execution of project finance and other capital markets transactions
Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership, including risk assessments and financial forecasts
Coordinate with investors, lenders, consultants, and banks to manage transaction due diligence processes and support structuring and closing of deals
Collaborate with colleagues across the company to ensure execution of capital raising initiatives, compliance with operational and reporting requirements of transactions, and support investment analysis and critical decision-making
Assist in preparing ad hoc analysis to support company planning efforts and senior-level decision-making in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in finance, economics or business administration
2 or more years of experience in a project finance/capital markets role at a major financial institution or renewable energy developer and/or participation in an investment banking analyst program
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage multiple, detailed projects and to follow through and drive toward deadlines, both for yourself and within teams
Strong interpersonal skills with capacity to interact with all levels of the organization
Hunger to learn and grow with the company
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in renewable energy or project-level financing
Structured financing transaction experience, including debt, tax equity, securitization, etc.
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Effective presentation and reporting skills for communicating complex financial data
Fluency in finance and valuation concepts and interpretation of financial statements
Capacity to conduct thorough market research and analyze industry trends
Detail-oriented, organized, with the ability to work well in fast-paced work environment
Strong work ethic and ability to research, identify and solve problems independently
Proficient in using business integrated systems, e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
Location & Compensation
Hybrid (remote and in-office role)
Base pay range: $90,000.00/yr - $110,000.00/yr
