Work for the World. **Description:**The Deputy Director, part of MCM's senior management, will support the Director and Financial Counsellor in overseeing departmental operations and manage a specific portfolio of MCM’s work.The candidate’s portfolio will be aligned with their professional expertise and is likely to encompass two or three areas that may include Payments, Currencies, and Infrastructure; Macrofinancial Surveillance and Review; Technical Assistance Strategy; Debt and Capital Markets; Capital Flows; Strategy and Resource Management; and Financial Sector Assessments.The Deputy Director is tasked with overseeing the operations of designated divisions, encompassing their analytical and policy initiatives, capacity development efforts, support for area departments, review processes, and human resources management. Additionally, the Deputy Director may engage in outreach activities and serve as the Fund’s representative at international forums.The Deputy Director collaborates with other MCM Deputy Directors as part of the Executive Team to develop and implement MCM's medium-term strategy, meet Accountability Framework goals, and manage the department efficiently. Responsibilities include attending weekly management and strategy meetings, and serving as Acting Director when needed.**Qualifications:**The successful candidate should have:* An advanced degree in finance, economics, business, or a related discipline, along with substantial senior-level professional experience either within the Fund or externally—preferably in an international financial institution, central bank, supervisory authority, or financial sector organization.* Extensive technical expertise and proven experience in financial sector matters.* A record of innovative results and intellectual leadership in senior roles managing complex agendas.* Effective leadership and management in organizing, delegating, planning, and developing staff through motivation and coaching.* A strong corporate mindset, respected by peers and recognized for being an effective team player.* Demonstrated diplomatic and partnership skills, with experience in building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders including Fund departments, country authorities, and private sector contacts.* Proven strategic insight and sound judgement.* Excellent oral and written communication skills.**Department:**MCMAI Monetary and Capital Markets Dept.
