The Director of Project Implementation
is a seasoned construction leader, with large-scale project management experience, a strong background in renewable energy and federal infrastructure, and the ability to drive complex projects to successful, on-time delivery. Position overview
A global leader in renewable energy and infrastructure solutions seeks a seasoned Director of Project Implementation to lead construction activities across Hawaiʻi. This newly created role will serve as the senior project delivery leader in the region, overseeing a portfolio of high-impact projects including utility-scale solar farms, battery energy storage systems (BESS), power plants, and major mechanical system upgrades. The Director will guide projects from development through execution, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery that supports Hawaiʻi’s clean energy transition and resilience goals. Base pay range
$180,000.00/yr - $220,000.00/yr Responsibilities
Lead the implementation of large-scale energy and infrastructure projects, including renewable generation, storage, and mechanical systems. Direct project planning, scheduling, budgeting, bidding, and contract administration. Oversee construction execution, ensuring safety, quality, compliance, and stakeholder satisfaction. Collaborate with engineering and development teams to align scope, design, and execution plans. Manage subcontractors and vendors to deliver projects on schedule and within budget. Provide regular updates, reports, and technical support to stakeholders throughout project lifecycles. Skills
Proven leadership in directing large, complex construction and energy projects. Expertise in project management tools and processes (Primavera P6, Procore, MS Project, etc.). Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities. Ability to balance multiple priorities and foster collaborative team relationships. Knowledge of federal project delivery standards, quality control, and safety compliance. Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, construction management, or related field (or equivalent experience). At least 15 years of project management experience delivering large-scale power, renewable, or complex facility infrastructure projects. Experience with power plant, solar, or BESS installations preferred. Familiarity with federal/military construction projects (NAVFAC, USACE, DoD). Demonstrated ability to manage $10M–$100M+ projects from development through completion. Valid driver’s license and ability to work across multiple project sites in Hawaiʻi. Seniority level
