What You’ll Do
Provide comprehensive medical care to adult inpatients with a variety of acute and chronic conditions
Perform detailed histories, physical exams, and daily rounding
Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic tests, labs, and imaging
Formulate and implement treatment plans in collaboration with attending physicians
Initiate and adjust medications and therapies based on patient condition
Respond to inpatient changes in condition, rapid responses, and urgent care needs
Communicate effectively with patients, families, nurses, and other members of the care team
Participate in discharge planning, including patient education and coordination of follow-up care
Accurately document assessments, plans, and updates in the electronic medical record (EMR – EPIC experience preferred)
Participate in quality improvement efforts and team huddles
What to Expect
Setting: Inpatient, general medical-surgical unit
Schedule: Full-time, daytime hours (Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
Call: Rotating call coverage may be required
Team: Supportive hospitalist group with physicians and APPs
What You’ll Need
Graduation from an accredited PA or NP program
NCCPA certification (for PA) or national board certification (for NP)
BLS certification (AHA or American Red Cross)
2+ years of experience in internal medicine, family medicine, or hospitalist/inpatient care strongly preferred. Acute Care NP preferred.
Excellent clinical judgment, autonomy, and time management skills
Strong written and verbal communication
