Job Overview
Medical Technologist – Core Lab – Evening Shift at Children’s National Hospital. This role performs chemistry, hematology, immunology, coagulation and/or urinalysis procedures in accordance with established procedures and policies. Responsibilities include recording and reporting results, operating and maintaining equipment, monitoring quality control standards, evaluating new instruments and tests, and performing clerical and service duties as required. Responsibilities
Perform routine technical procedures following standard operating procedures. Perform tests accurately in an organized and efficient manner. Keep up-to-date with procedure updates and demonstrate competence in assigned areas. Serve as a technical resource for Medical Lab Technicians and Laboratory Associates. Report tests accurately in writing, orally, and/or in the Laboratory Information System (LIS); follow guidelines for reporting results and critical values; document calls. Review testing logs and complete tests within the shift. Perform equipment and instrument maintenance according to protocols; troubleshoot basic instrument malfunctions and resolve problems with manuals or vendor support when needed. Monitor supply inventories to ensure adequate availability; receive and stock supplies. Perform and assess QC protocols; identify and resolve QC failures; document resolutions. Promote safety and maintain clear, timely verbal and written communication; stop to resolve uncertainties and ensure patient safety. Qualifications
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or equivalent related field of science (Required). Minimum Work Experience: 1 year of experience in an accredited clinical laboratory (Required). Required Skills/Knowledge: Math ability with statistics preferred; good interpersonal and communication skills; knowledge of LIS desirable. Required Licenses and Certifications: Registry or eligible as MT(ASCP) (Required). Work Details

Base pay range: $59,155.20/yr – $98,571.20/yr. Sign-on bonus opportunity: $10,000.
