Fidelity Labs seeks a Vice President of Data Science to join a Labs startup. The startup focuses on building innovative technology for financial services, with an emphasis on artificial intelligence to accelerate growth. This role leads the data science strategy and roadmap, working with a data science team, and is responsible for the design, implementation, testing and delivery of solutions that reinvent how financial services firms market and sell their solutions. The role is a key member of the startup team, serving as the face of data science for internal and external audiences, and actively collaborates with product and development teams. The Team

Strong, proven communication, collaboration and leadership skills Experience in leading teams to understand business objectives and develop solutions Ability to communicate and influence senior leaders and clients on plans and progress Ability to lead a team in an agile and collaborative environment Passion for excellence and a desire to mentor and develop talent Experience delivering data science to a product, startup, lab or early-stage company, in AI-driven personalization, financial services, marketing and/or business development Proven experience building analytics and leveraging large language models to deliver insights from large datasets Hands-on expertise in data extraction, cleaning, feature extraction, model training and evaluation, and model deployment MS/PhD in data science, statistics or similar quantitative field, plus 5+ years of senior-level data science experience in the financial or a related domain Hands-on experience with Data Science, ML, AI, and LLM tools (examples: SageMaker, Python, scikit-learn, SQL, Bedrock, OpenAI) The role is expected to be both forward-looking and hands-on, with strong communication of objectives, plan development and delivery of results.
