Overview
Senior Automation Test Engineer with Playwright Experience. Washington, DC (Hybrid 3 Days a Week Onsite). We are looking for a Senior Automation Test Engineer with strong expertise in Playwright automation to join our QEA team in a permanent role. You will be responsible for developing and executing automated tests, including integration/API and end-to-end testing, to ensure robust quality coverage across our applications. This role is ideal for someone passionate about test automation, continuous improvement, and working in a fast-paced, collaborative Agile environment. Responsibilities
Create end-to-end test scripts in TypeScript/JavaScript for modern frontend applications using Playwright. Architect scalable and reusable test automation frameworks using Selenium, Java, and TypeScript. Define, design, and implement automation testing strategies across web, API, and UI layers. Design and develop robust automated test scripts for web applications using Selenium with Java. Guide the team on best practices in test automation, continuous testing, and DevOps integration. Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps. Collaborate with DevOps teams to configure and maintain test execution in Azure DevOps Pipelines. Work Model

Overall 8-12 years of experience in Selenium, Playwright, TypeScript, JavaScript, Azure DevOps. Proven expertise in developing automated tests using JavaScript and the Playwright framework. Strong programming skills in JavaScript or TypeScript. 2+ years of hands-on experience with Playwright for test automation, plus experience with other automation tools/frameworks such as Selenium. Minimum 5+ years of experience in UI and API automation, test framework development, and test process implementation. Solid knowledge of API testing tools like Postman or REST Assured. Good knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodology. Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps for automated test execution and integration. Ability to work independently and help other team members. Preferred
Experience with banking domain is preferred. Knowledge of SQL scripting for database testing and validation. LLM/GenAI knowledge. Salary and Benefits

This position is eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of applicable plans.
