Overview
Revel Group is seeking a highly skilled and proactive General Counsel to provide strategic legal guidance and support across its diverse portfolio of entities. The General Counsel will be a key member of the leadership team and will provide comprehensive legal advice and risk management guidance across a wide range of issues including employment law, liability, regulatory compliance, contracts, corporate governance, real estate development, and workers’ compensation. This role requires strong business acumen, excellent judgment, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, multi-entity environment. Key Responsibilities
Legal Counsel & Compliance
Serve as the chief legal advisor for all entities, providing clear, pragmatic guidance on business and legal matters Oversee and manage legal compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations across diverse industries (entertainment, recreation, development, consulting) Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, vendor agreements, waivers, lease documents, partnership agreements, and NDAs Develop, implement, and maintain company policies and procedures that ensure regulatory compliance and reduce liability
Employment & Labor Law
Advise HR and leadership on employment-related matters including hiring, terminations, wage and hour laws, benefits, and workplace investigations Ensure compliance with OSHA, EEOC, ADA, FMLA, and other applicable labor laws Address issues related to harassment, discrimination, workplace safety, and employee relations Identify potential areas of legal risk across all entities and propose mitigation strategies Manage liability waivers, safety policies, and claims in high-risk recreational environments Oversee and support the handling of workers' compensation claims and litigation Support in navigating land use regulations, zoning, permitting, and construction law Assist with real estate acquisitions, due diligence, development agreements, and project-related contracts
Governance & Leadership
Provide strategic legal input to executive leadership for operational planning and long-term decision-making Engage and manage outside counsel when necessary Maintain corporate records and ensure proper governance structures are in place across all entities
Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school; member in good standing of at least one U.S. state bar (Tennessee bar a plus) Minimum 5 years of experience in a general counsel, in-house, or law firm role, preferably supporting multiple business units or entities Demonstrated expertise in employment law, liability, regulatory compliance, and contract law Experience with recreational, hospitality, or real estate industries is highly desirable Strong business judgment, problem-solving skills, and ability to communicate complex legal matters in clear, actionable terms Ability to work independently and collaboratively with executive leadership and operational teams What We Offer
