Job Title: Principal Consultant, Cybersecurity Advisory Location: Remote (within a 50-mile radius of Columbia, MD for occasional in-person meetings) Role: Full time Compensation: $125K-$160K About Surefire Cyber

Surefire Cyber delivers swift, strong responses to cyber incidents such as ransomware, email compromise, malware, data theft, and other threats with end-to-end response capabilities. We provide clients confidence by helping them prepare, respond, and recover from cyber incidents—and to fortify their cyber resilience after an incident. Our approach is designed by industry veterans who have worked with law firms, insurance carriers, brokers, law enforcement, and impacted organizations to address efficiency, predictability, and transparency in incident response. Responsibilities

Lead remote and onsite client engagements, acting as a trusted technical and consulting resource on behalf of Surefire Cyber. Provide comprehensive cybersecurity solutions and services, guiding clients through cloud security, Privileged Access Management (PAM), Identity and Access Management (IAM), and related areas. Support clients in preparation for and recovery from cybersecurity incidents to develop resilience against future challenges. Collaborate with cross-functional internal teams and partners to deliver resilience management solutions. Lead incident response services and participate in planning, scheduling, and documenting client engagements. High Level Responsibilities

Demonstrate a commitment to learning and sharing ideas to foster continuous improvement. Build strong client relationships and provide expert guidance to strengthen cybersecurity maturity and security posture. Deliver well-researched recommendations considering budget and resource constraints to improve clients’ cybersecurity posture. Core Responsibilities

Work with the Director, Cybersecurity Advisory Group to plan, develop, and deliver Incident Response Table-Top Exercises. Plan and document client engagements; review IRPs, incident response playbooks, BIA, DRP, and BCP for improvements. Deliver Cybersecurity Improvement Plans and regular cybersecurity assessments. Perform on-site forensic collection of devices and lab equipment. Articulate cybersecurity concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences. Contribute to process development and documentation for the Cybersecurity Advisory Group. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and partners to deliver resilience management solutions. Requirements

Practical work experience or training in enterprise IT operations, architecture, security assessments, or audits. Computer forensics experience; familiarity with Windows, Linux, macOS, iOS, and Android environments. Experience or training in incident response, forensics, cybersecurity assessments or audits, or risk management planning. Knowledge of enterprise IT, cybersecurity frameworks, risk management, and common TTPs of threat actors. Strong writing skills for security assessment and incident reports, and training materials. Willingness to grow the Surefire Cyber team through knowledge sharing and continuous learning. Provide after-hours support and travel as needed (some weekend travel). Interview Process
