Manufacturing Service Engineer Responsibilities
Support automation equipment in the semiconductor and PV industries, including wafer and mask/reticle handling robots, automated shipping boxes openers, SMIF pod openers, FOU P openers,Mask/Reticle transfer systems, EFEMs, Thermal Curing Chambers, and related products. Be an integral member of a collaborative team that builds, tests, installs, and provides after-installation maintenance for equipment at domestic and international customers. Install, troubleshoot, repair, aid in assembly, test, and qualify Fortrend products at customer sites. Engage in program management as needed for product installations; prior program management experience is valuable. Interface with customers and maintain professionalism in all interactions. Apply knowledge of electrical distribution, mechanical systems, testing, clean room procedures and protocols, pneumatic systems, electrical codes, electronics, and software principles as applicable. Work as a self-starter and as a team player in a dynamic environment. Qualifications
Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Field Service Engineer. Understanding of pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems. Directly interface with end users (customers) to provide technical presentations and consultation for fully integrated systems. Collaborate with customers, field sales, technical support, and corporate engineering to resolve escalated problems. Manage small or custom installation projects. Train customers on basic operation of the Fortrend system. Perform other duties as assigned. Prepare detailed reports for management and design engineering regarding equipment/systems defects or design deficiencies affecting installation and operations/performance. Work well in a team atmosphere with internal customers and peers. Strong communication skills to explain and discuss complex information and gain cooperation. Knowledge of field service and installation methods used in the semiconductor industry. Ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic drawings. Proficient in written and spoken English. Familiarity with MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio). Willingness to travel up to 60% and internationally (e.g., China, Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Europe, Israel, South America). Available to travel as required. Desirable Skills
Ability to work collaboratively as well as independently with limited supervision. Ability to communicate technical details and reasoning to engineers and management. Excellent documentation skills. Superior communication skills. Solidworks. Machine shop skills. Clean room experience. Software programming – C, C++. Flexibility and comfort working in a rapidly changing multi-tasking environment. Knowledge or proficiency in a second language (Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, or Korean) is a plus. U.S. citizenship or authorized to work in the U.S.
