Microbiology and Immunology – Faculty Position (Ladder Rank) – Assistant Professor Position Description: The Department of Microbiology and Immunology seeks candidates for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. We are seeking a creative investigator employing cutting-edge approaches to join the Integrative Microbiology (I-Micro) program, which includes Microbiology, Microbial Pathogenesis and Host Response, Virology, and Innate Immunity. The I-Micro program spans the Parnassus and Mission Bay campuses of UCSF. Research space will be at the Mission Bay campus, embedded in a dynamic and interactive community of labs. Qualifications: Candidates are expected to hold a PhD and/or MD at time of appointment (CV must list pending degree). The successful candidate will be expected to establish a dynamic and interactive research program and to excel at teaching. The successful candidate will be eligible for membership in our diverse graduate programs, including Biomedical Sciences (BMS) and Tetrad (Cell Biology, Biochemistry and Biophysics, Genetics). Salary: The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. The minimum base salary range for this position is $121,900-$157,900.
