Job Description:
Our client is seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to support the full systems engineering lifecycle — from concept through design, integration, testing, and deployment. In this role, you will lead technical planning, system integration, verification, and validation activities while balancing technical, schedule, and cost considerations. You will translate customer requirements into practical hardware and software solutions, perform trade studies, and support the assembly and testing of advanced hardware and software systems.
Responsibilities
Perform system analyses at all levels, from concept through end-of-life.
Translate customer requirements into functional hardware and software specifications.
Conduct requirements flow down, allocation, and interface definition studies.
Plan, organize, and support the assembly of advanced hardware and software systems, including ground and space systems.
Lead testing activities at the component, subsystem, and system level (mechanical, functional, and environmental testing).
Conduct trade studies to evaluate alternatives based on performance, risk, and supportability.
Develop and maintain system interfaces and Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
Analyze data from production and testing to inform engineering decisions.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated and optimized system designs.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field (Master’s degree preferred).
Minimum of five years of Systems Engineering experience.
Strong experience modeling, analyzing, testing, and planning the assembly of advanced hardware.
Prior experience assembling advanced hardware, including ground and space systems.
Experience performing functional and timeline analysis.
Proven experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and practices.
Ability to perform systems analysis and systems integration.
Ability to conduct software validation activities.
Prior experience performing testing at component, subsystem, and system levels.
Strong data analysis skills, problem-solving abilities, and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
Experience developing system models of complex architecture preferred.
Experience in a model-based environment is desirable.
Due to the nature of the work, an Interim clearance is required (active Secret clearance a plus).
