Team Overview
We are looking for an experienced semiconductor/RF hardware Test Engineer to join the Impinj Product and Test Engineering team and work on the next generation of End-point and Reader ICs. The role uses test methodology and test hardware expertise to create, deploy, and maintain test solutions running on production ATE, enabling characterization, qualification, and production for Impinj’s End-point and Reader ICs.
What You Will Do
Lead and implement the development of test programs and hardware on Automated Testing Equipment (ATE) for characterizing and testing silicon products Optimize yield, test time, multi-site count, and parallel test efficiency to ensure outstanding performance Develop RF wafer-level tests in a large-volume production test environment Reduce and analyze large data sets using JMP, SQL, MATLAB, and other tools Analyze data across time and products, presenting recommendations to the design team Serve as the first point of contact for failure analysis, identifying issues related to setup, code, artifacts, silicon, and logic/physical blocks Develop and implement design requirements, test plans, specifications, and procedures in accordance with quality assurance program requirements Collaborate with Process, Analog, and Digital IC design teams to define and develop characterization, qualification, and production test programs Apply troubleshooting skills to debug and resolve measurement-related issues
What You Will Bring
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Electrical Engineering with 15+ years of industry experience testing silicon products on ATE in a production environment Proficiency in writing test programs in C# and experience with NI/Emerson Test Executive (TestStand) and STS (Semiconductor Test Software) Hands-on experience writing, debugging, and optimizing test programs and hardware (probe cards, load boards, and cables) for silicon products Strong knowledge of NI STS T2 and T4 tester architectures Experience with statistical process control methodologies and software Direct experience in leading a team of test and product engineers Experience working with local and offshore OSATs Experience with Accretech UF3000 and FP3000 or equivalent 300 mm prober operation Knowledge of die packaging technologies and board-level testing, including the NI PXI Station test architecture Demonstrated project management, teamwork, mentorship, and leadership skills Excellent documentation, organizational, and communication skills Experience working with RF, non-volatile memory (NVM), or high-speed communications products Experience crafting requirements and selecting hardware to upgrade tester capabilities
Compensation and Benefits
The benefits listed may vary by employment nature and country. The typical base pay range for this role in the US is $179,900 – $269,600. Individual base pay depends on role complexity, requirements, experience, and skills. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time. Some roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus, and stock. US-based employees have access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan with company match, among others.
