Lead feature development throughout the software lifecycle: gather requirements, design, build, test, and deploy Help scale our search services which need to support low latency and high throughput Deliver high-quality, distributed, testable, and scalable software Mentor others in development technologies, tools, and processes Present designs to internal/external groups and review designs of others Develop test strategies, design automation frameworks, and write unit/functional tests to drive code coverage and automation metrics Own services, improve supportability, and help resolve customer issues Improve developer productivity through tooling and software engineering best practices Participate in the team\'s on-call rotation to address real-time problems and keep services operational Design and develop features on public clouds like AWS, GCP Build tools for internal use to support software engineering best practices Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field—or equivalent practical experience Understanding of object-oriented programming and experience in at least one OO language (e.g., Java, C++) 5+ years of object-oriented programming experience Experience using Git / GitHub Experience in automated testing including unit and functional testing using Java, JUnit, Selenium Previous SaaS development experience Team player with a can-do attitude and quick learner Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies Experience with search technologies such as Lucene, Elasticsearch, Solr is a huge plus Experience building search platform/features is a huge plus Experience building and deploying microservices on public clouds (AWS or GCP) is a big plus Experience with Istio service mesh, Terraform, Helm Advantage: knowledge of Spring Boot, Maven, Jetty, IntelliJ IDEA Preferred Requirements
Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related IT discipline Experience in REST API design Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or AWS Experience with information retrieval / search expertise Experience with search technologies such as Lucene, Elasticsearch, Solr, Swiftype Demonstrated ability to learn quickly in a dynamic environment Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies Compensation and Benefits
