Lead Software Engineer, React and Node, NPM
Base pay range: $115,500.00/yr - $165,000.00/yr
Location: Boston or Needham, MA (on-site with occasional travel between offices as needed)

Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain core platform services and APIs
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver scalable solutions
Implement infrastructure automation and CI/CD pipelines using modern DevOps tools
Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical planning
Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle: architecture, design, implementation, deployment, and support
Ensure the team adheres to established development standards such as continuous integration, code reviews, and technical documentation
Monitor and optimize system performance, reliability, and security
Keys to the position
Extensive JavaScript experience: minimum of 10 years of hands-on development, including at least 3 years in a technical leadership or SME role
Modern web stack: proven experience with React and Node.js
Package management proficiency: strong familiarity with NPM, Webpack, and ESLint and their roles in managing dependencies and build workflows
Developer enablement: experience designing and implementing tools, frameworks, and workflows that streamline development and deployment
Strong soft skills: collaborative, with excellent interpersonal and communication abilities; able to mentor junior developers
Location flexibility: based in Boston or Needham, with occasional travel between offices as needed
Qualifications
10+ years of software engineering experience
Experience developing enterprise-wide web services and applications using JavaScript and TypeScript
Hands-on experience with React, AngularJS, and Node.js
Experience building and maintaining libraries or frameworks used by other teams
Experience building enterprise-wide services supporting multiple teams/departments
Excellent written and verbal communication
Attention to detail, self-discipline, and drive to innovate
Comfort with test-driven development, CI, and Agile methodologies using Git, Artifactory, and Jenkins
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
Experience working with offshore development teams is a plus
Bachelor’s degree in CS, engineering, math, or related field, or equivalent experience preferred
