Loan Partner (Senior Loan Officer Assistant) – The Jonus Group Job Summary: Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Loan Partner to join a team. This full-time, hybrid role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a strong background in mortgage lending who can independently manage loans from application to submission. Assist loan officers by overseeing the entire loan process, from pre-approval to submission. Price and structure loan files based on borrower qualifications and investor guidelines. Review borrower documentation, including credit, income, assets, and liabilities, for accuracy and completeness. Perform income calculations (W-2, self-employed, etc.) in accordance with underwriting guidelines. Run DU/LP findings, interpret results, and prepare conditions for submission. Register and submit loans to lenders through various platforms and portals. Clearly explain loan products, rates, closing costs, and mortgage processes to borrowers. Prepare and send initial disclosures while ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. Maintain ongoing communication with clients, lenders, title companies, and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth loan experience. Track key loan milestones and proactively resolve any issues that arise during the pipeline. Collaborate closely with processors, underwriters, and loan officers to ensure timelines are met. Qualifications/Requirements
Minimum of 3+ years of experience in mortgage lending, preferably as a Loan Officer Assistant, Loan Processor, or similar role. Strong working knowledge of Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac guidelines and conventional loan programs. Experience running DU and LP, reviewing AUS findings, and working with lender portals. Exceptional income calculation skills (both salaried and self-employed borrowers). Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain loan details to borrowers. Proficiency with LOS systems (e.g., Encompass, Arive, LendingPad, etc.). High attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple files simultaneously. NMLS license preferred but not required (depending on state regulations and responsibilities).
