Business Partner Specialist
based in our Chicago office. The role is part of People & Culture (P&C) and focuses on strategic HR partnership, talent management, employee engagement, HR operations, data-driven decision making, and cross-functional collaboration across regions. This role is based in Chicago, IL. Responsibilities
Strategic HR Partnership: Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and leaders, guidance on HR policies, procedures, and best practices; collaborate with Centers of Excellence (CoE) P&C teams to develop and implement policies and solutions that support the company strategy in the US; partner with leadership to identify workforce challenges and opportunities and develop solutions; work with business leaders on organizational strategies such as workforce planning, talent optimization, and change management. Talent Management: Support talent and performance processes including annual reviews and succession planning; support strategies for identification, retention, and development of top talent; identify and address talent gaps and organizational development needs. Employee Engagement and Culture: Drive initiatives to enhance employee engagement and retention; facilitate change management and support teams through organizational change. Employee Relations & HR Operations: Ensure compliance with employment laws; collaborate with management, Legal, Compliance, and Employee Relations to identify and address employment law risks; support management, compensation and finance in annual salary planning and incentive processes; work with Hiring Managers, Finance and Talent Acquisition on compensation decisions for new hires and internal moves; coordinate onboarding, offboarding, compensation, benefits, and recognition programs with CoE P&C teams. Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize P&C analytics to provide insights, monitor and report on key P&C metrics such as turnover, engagement, and diversity metrics to inform decisions. Collaboration and Communication: Align P&C practices across regions with the Global Director, HR Business Partner; communicate effectively with employees and leaders at all levels to encourage transparency. Qualifications
3-5 years of experience in human resources, with exposure to talent acquisition, talent management, learning and development, employee rewards, and employee relations. Proven ability to earn the trust of senior leaders and serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees. Experience in a matrixed, global environment and managing global initiatives. Strong project management and program implementation skills. Ability to work both collaboratively and independently; strong analytical and strategic problem-solving skills. Bachelor’s degree required; HR certification is a plus. This role requires unrestricted rights to work permanently in the U.S. Compensation and Benefits
Total Compensation Range (base salary and target incentive):
$92,525-$157,275 Morningstar’s hybrid work environment offers remote work with in-person collaboration each week. Additional benefits are available to support wellness and work-life balance. Employment Details
