Overview
Manager, Software Development (SDM), Amazon Managed Service for Apache Flink (MSF). This role leads engineering efforts to build a managed stream processing service that enables customers to develop applications using Apache Flink with a simple, serverless experience. MSF helps customers by handling cluster setup, availability, state and checkpointing infrastructure, and other operational details, allowing developers to focus on business logic in Java, SQL, or Scala. Responsibilities
Hiring and developing your team. A successful service starts with a great team, and delivering through others is your primary responsibility. Defining and executing a roadmap for your service. Regularly engage with customers, use data and metrics to understand usage, and deliver a roadmap that delights users. Making the operation of your service safe and sustainable. Prioritize improvements to keep things running smoothly and safely. Project ownership. Drive execution of team projects, keep peers aligned, and clearly communicate status to leadership to remove blockers. Contributing to the overall AWS Streaming Services Seattle leadership team. Help define culture, ensure teams have what they need, and drive site-wide initiatives that improve life for all teams. What you will build and operate
You will enable your team to build a platform to operate an open-source stream processing engine, Apache Flink, to make MSF the defacto service for running stream processing applications. This involves integrating latest open-source technologies with AWS scale. Team culture and growth

3+ years of engineering team management experience 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and live-site operations Experience partnering with product or program management teams Preferred Qualifications
