Sr. Software Test Engineer for Covidien, LP (a Medtronic company) located in Boston, MA. Responsible for defining product specifications and various design and development activities.

Perform software design, testing, documentation and maintenance for Health Informatics product software for Applications on Health Informatics and Monitoring.

Design and develop key technical components for the product software to include writing clean, logical, high-quality code.

Coordinate software verification activities for GUI applications by developing comprehensive test strategies aligned with industry standards, including defining test execution frequency, establishing continuous integration (CI) pipelines, integrating build and system testing, and implementing automation to reduce manual efforts. Leverage programming languages and tools including Python, Bash scripting, CMake, and testing frameworks like pytest to develop and maintain software applications and automated testing solutions. Develop and manage Testing infrastructure using tools to include Docker, virtual machines and hardware-in-loop (HIL) test environments. Configure Continuous Integration systems Jenkins or bamboo using GIT, Linux command line, YAML, bash scripting. Develop and maintain verification and validation (V&V) test infrastructure in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements to ensure the quality and reliability of software systems. Design and implement comprehensive test solutions to verify system integration, evaluate performance, and ensure overall product quality. Triage test and product issues, propose effective solutions, and help prioritize in alignment with product release roadmap. Gather requirements, create test plans, and contribute to the verification roadmap of embedded device software and services. #LI-DNI**Basic Qualifications:**

Requires a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology or related engineering or technical field and three (3) years of experience as a software engineer or related occupation in software engineering, or Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology or related engineering or technical field and five (5) years of experience as a software engineer or related occupation in software engineering. Must possess at least three years of experience with Master’s or five years with a Bachelor’s in each of the following: architecture of test strategies to comply with industry standards, software build releases, and enforce quality gates; Python, Test Framework, Bash Scripting, and Cmake for build automation; scalable test automation frameworks using Squish or equivalent UI automation tools for GUI functional testing; Jenkins or Bamboo for automated build and deployment processes; test automation infrastructure using Docker, virtual machines, and hardware-in-loop (HIL) setups for embedded Linux-based systems; and requirements management, test design, defect tracking, and triage results from multiple subsystems.
