A Day in the Life The Solution Architect owns the end-to-end design of enterprise solutions, sitting above both functional and technical workstreams to ensure complete alignment between business processes and technology delivery. This role has command of the total solution — from business requirements and process optimization to application architecture, integrations, security, and deployment. While the primary focus is on applications and integrations (ERP, CRM, middleware, and APIs), the Solution Architect also ensures all solutions meet security, compliance, and cloud deployment standards through close collaboration with the Infrastructure and Security team. The Solution Architect will collaborate with the PMO to evaluate new products and platforms, guide implementations to follow the approved architecture, and uphold strong governance so solutions are sustainable, scalable, cost-effective, and aligned with enterprise strategy. What You’ll Do Develop a deep understanding of the organizations application and integration landscape to identify improvement opportunities. Act as the overall solution owner, ensuring functional designs, technical implementations, and infrastructure considerations form a cohesive, sustainable system. Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new products and platforms to align with long-term business and IT strategies. Ensure all application architectures incorporate security, compliance, scalability, and cost optimization. Collaborate across business, functional, and technical teams to maintain alignment throughout project lifecycles. Establish and uphold strong architectural governance processes to protect long-term solution integrity. Assess current systems and processes, identify opportunities to streamline, align, and simplify, and recommend improvements through upgrades, consolidation, new technologies, or architectural changes. Lead the design of application and integration architectures, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and strategy. Oversee both functional and technical workstreams to maintain alignment with the approved solution blueprint. Conduct product and platform evaluations, including proof-of-concepts, ROI analysis, and vendor assessments. Partner with stakeholders to translate business requirements into detailed architecture blueprints, including data flows, API specifications, and integration patterns. Oversee implementation to ensure adherence to design principles, security requirements, and cost objectives. Document and maintain architecture decisions, design patterns, and governance standards. Collaborate with Infrastructure and Security teams to ensure deployment readiness and compliance with security policies. Anticipate risks and constraints related to time, scope, resources, and compliance, and develop mitigation strategies. Mentor technical and functional team members to promote architectural best practices. Promote the use of Kubernetes, containerization, and microservices where appropriate for scalability and agility. Participate in and, where needed, lead architecture review boards or governance forums. Design and lead AI-driven solutions: Build secure, scalable systems that integrate AI into business processes, guiding teams to drive innovation, ensure governance, and align with organizational goals and ethics. Perform other duties as assigned. Must Haves Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent work experience). 7+ years of experience in application development, system design, and enterprise integration. 4+ years in a solution architect or senior application architecture role. Strong expertise in ERP and CRM platforms (e.g., Oracle Cloud, Salesforce). Proficiency in integration platforms (e.g., MuleSoft, OIC) and API design. Experience leading platform selection and vendor evaluation processes. Knowledge of cloud platforms, Azure & OCI and deployment best practices. Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, microservices, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps methodologies. Strong grasp of application security, compliance frameworks, and cost optimization strategies. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to think long-term, anticipate future needs, and design solutions that are scalable and adaptable. Ability to analyze complex business problems, evaluate trade-offs between different solutions, and make data-driven decisions. Nice to Haves Experience in B2B or rental industry systems. Familiarity with microservices, event-driven architecture, and API gateways. Hands-on experience with application deployment automation and CI/CD pipelines. Knowledge of infrastructure fundamentals (networking, hosting, load balancing). Ability to bridge application, security, and infrastructure requirements in solution design.
