Overview
Director, Systems Services and Support role at Fidelity Investments. Fidelity Enterprise Infrastructure is looking for a highly motivated leader to head our Asset Management Technology (AM Tech) aligned Equity, FAMS, and High Income Support teams. In this role, you will be responsible for the Production Support of AM Tech’s advisor technology. In addition to strong technical competency, the position requires the ability to effectively manage a geographically diverse team, build and leverage partner relationships, and provide innovative thought leadership. The team comes from diverse technical backgrounds, and the responsibilities provide the opportunity for a variety of challenges. Ideal candidates will have a background in either software engineering or systems engineering with a desire to learn. We are looking for a Systems Thinking, Technology Leader who has helped teams scale through production insights, operational automation, developer guidance, real-time metrics, and automation.
Responsibilities
Lead the AM Tech aligned Equity, FAMS, and High Income Support teams and oversee Production Support of AM Tech’s advisor technology. Effectively manage a geographically diverse team, build and leverage partner relationships, and provide innovative thought leadership. Contribute to system design and scalability to support distributed, high-availability environments. Drive production insights, operational automation, real-time metrics, and automation to scale the organization. Guide developers and provide technical leadership across the team.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technology related field (e.g. Engineering, Computer Science); Master’s degree a plus 10+ years of hands-on experience deploying and/or supporting highly distributed multi-tiered systems at scale Hands-on experience with Public Cloud environments (AWS and Azure); certifications a plus Hands-on experience with container orchestration Experience with distributed & highly concurrent service-based architectures (microservices, containerized services, serverless) Ability to plan and drive complex initiatives using agile principles Ability to understand a complex and global systems environment Working knowledge of basic investment terms and practices is desirable Familiarity with ITIL and/or Agile Project Management Financial and trading systems knowledge Ability to automate with scripting languages (Python, Shell, etc.) Experience with infrastructure as code tools (IAM, ARM, Terraform, Chef) Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure components to deliver end-to-end cloud architectures Understanding of Cloud Computing and DevOps concepts including CI/CD Hands-on Kubernetes skills Programming in C# or Java and scripting languages like JavaScript/TypeScript or Python Proven experience maintaining scalability and resiliency of complex environments Proven experience implementing advanced observability practices at scale Experience with modern monitoring tools (DataDog, Prometheus, Splunk) Instrumentation skills for building and operating monitoring, logging, and alerting services of distributed systems Ability to triage, perform root cause analysis, and be decisive under pressure Experience interpreting large datasets using query languages and visualization tools Proficient communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences Ability to learn new software, methods, and practices and bring them to developers Ability to work with diverse teams and build effective relationships

Help define and execute a comprehensive reliability and observability strategy to ensure Fidelity’s systems are available when customers need them Bring together technical, procedural, and financial data to reduce toil and increase efficiency Execute plans for technical standardization and process refinement within the engineering organization, especially for Site Reliability Engineers Troubleshoot stack-wide engineering issues related to hardware, software, networks, applications and cloud service providers
