The Pharmacy Director supervises the pharmacy department including personnel and services provided by the department. The Director works with other hospital departments and the medical staff. The Director will have a working relationship with pharmaceutical vendors and the general public when called upon. Responsibilities
Leadership & Management: Overseeing pharmacy staff, fostering professional growth, and ensuring smooth daily operations. Regulatory Compliance: Staying ahead of ever-changing regulations and ensuring the pharmacy meets all federal, state, and accreditation standards. 340B Program Oversight: Managing the hospital’s 340B Drug Pricing Program to optimize savings and compliance while expanding access to affordable medications for eligible patients. Strategic Planning: Developing and implementing pharmacy programs and policies that enhance patient care, operational efficiency, and fiscal responsibility. Quality & Safety: Promoting the highest standards in medication safety, ensuring accurate dispensing, and maintaining a strong culture of quality improvement. Minimum Qualifications
Education: Graduation from a College of Pharmacy accredited by the American Council of Pharmaceutical Education. Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of current Pharmacist experience. Two (2) years of supervisory/management experience is preferred. License(s): Current State of Alaska Pharmacist License. Certification(s): Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and ACLS. Internal Offers: Step placement and rate of pay will be determined based on applicable Personnel Rules or Union Contract terms. External Offers: This position starts at $169,544.96 annually. Step placement and rate of pay will be determined based upon relevant experience. Practice Notices
