Overview
Centurion is the NEW provider of comprehensive healthcare services to the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services. We are currently seeking a full-time Primary Care Physician at the Western Correctional Institution in Cumberland, Maryland.
Responsibilities The Physician provides medical assessments and evaluations, treats emergent, urgent, and routine medical issues, manages and supervises medical treatment for chronic conditions, and participates in organizational initiatives to prevent diseases and injuries in a correctional setting. The Physician works under the direction of the Site Medical Director and/or the Statewide Medical Director in collaboration with the Health Services Administrator (HSA) to ensure efficient and clinically appropriate medical services are provided.
Qualifications
Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school required
Active and unrestricted MD/DO license or the ability to obtain one required
Board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine required
Must show/be able to obtain active Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration
Leadership experience preferred
Ability to pass credentialing and background check
Education Level: Professional Degree
