Sr. Recruiter at Brown University Health. Reports to Vice President and Chief Pharmacy Officer. Plans, organizes, and manages inpatient Pharmacy operations for Rhode Island Hospital, The Miriam Hospital, Newport Hospital, Bradley Hospital and Gateway Healthcare. Responsibilities

Is responsible for knowing and acting in accordance with the principles of the Brown University Health Corporate Compliance Program and Code of Conduct. Develops and recommends short and long-term goals for inpatient pharmacy services in consideration of Brown University Health’s mission, values and key business objectives. Provides sponsorship to the function by identifying resources required to achieve the operating results and advocates for them during resource allocation. Participates in the development, recommendation, implementation, and monitoring of inpatient operating budget for each affiliate. Directs the effective utilization of resources including people, financial, and material by developing goals and objectives for inpatient areas of responsibility in collaboration with affiliate Managers. Responsible for the implementation of business plans, in accordance with action planning to attain key operating objectives. Monitors productivity reporting data and ensures corrective actions are taken to address variances from standard. Establishes operating priorities to ensure activities support the system’s strategies while maintaining fiscal responsibility. Monitors personnel and purchase requisition expenditures. Ensures overall maintenance and physical inventory of equipment. Through affiliate Managers implements management standards for inpatient operations, ensuring the effective recruitment, selection, development, and evaluation of managerial, professional, and support staff to optimize the achievement of goals and objectives. Directs the planning, design, development and implementation of customer-focused, coordinated delivery of inpatient services consistent with progressive contemporary practice models and inclusive of new and developing information technology. Responsible for the optimization of the inpatient electronic health record. Directs, and is responsible for, the implementation and integration of inpatient clinical services in collaboration with the Director, Ambulatory Care Pharmacy, affiliate Managers, and key constituents. Responsible for the optimization of established formulary management initiatives that maximize therapeutic outcomes, reduce the risk of drug-related problems, and ensure the use of cost-effective pharmacotherapy throughout the health-system. Directs sterile and non-sterile compounding services for inpatients and outpatients in collaboration with affiliate Managers. Directs sterile and non-sterile compounding services for hospital based and off-site oncology clinics and infusion centers. Responsible for compliance with Rhode Island Department of Health, Board of Pharmacy Rules and Regulations as related to compounding of pharmaceuticals, USP chapters 797/800/795, NIOSH, JC Medication Management, and related regulations. Collaborates and consults with peers and colleagues by defining functional standards and translating them into usable applications. Collaborates in development of mutually workable solutions to ensure consistency and continuity of functional applications across affiliate hospitals. Participates in professional activities and maintains professional affiliations to stay abreast of trends and regulatory changes. Serves as a role model by demonstrating corporate values and delivering high-quality customer service. Effectively communicates with staff, management and customers to facilitate information flow necessary to the success of the employees, departments, programs and the organization. Creates employee ownership for their careers by providing staff with positive and actionable feedback. Promotes effective planning and coordination of services with physicians, nurses, other departments, and outside agencies. Ensures inpatient care activities operate to meet clinical standards, patient care quality standards, accreditation and regulatory requirements, and age-specific needs of the patient population. Ensures customer relations between inpatient and ambulatory services and post-discharge services. Interprets inpatient pharmacy services philosophy, policy, and practice for affiliate hospitals and directs implementation. Interprets and provides consultation for affiliate-specific pharmacy policies, procedures and standards of practice. Develops and evaluates inpatient programs and services for continuous quality improvement. Provides systems to assess patient, family and community needs for services and programs. Develops and implements related inpatient manual, automated order-management, and record-keeping systems. Responsible for development, implementation and marketing of all inpatient programs. Monitors productivity data and takes corrective actions for variances from standard. Develops, recommends, implements and administers necessary policies and procedures to ensure high standards of care across inpatient pharmacy with smooth interfaces and delivery of services. Ensures all applicable standards and regulations (e.g., TJC, CMS, DOH, HCFA) are adhered to and licenses, permits and certificates are obtained and maintained. Develops university-affiliated programs for inpatient clinical experience for undergraduate pharmacy students. Collaborates with residency program coordinators for recruitment and curriculum development for graduate pharmacist residents; may serve as residency director for PGY2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership residency. Precepts pharmacy students and residents. Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college of pharmacy required. Advanced study in pharmacy or healthcare-related field (Master’s or Doctor of Pharmacy) and a pharmacy residency, or equivalent experience. Related graduate study in business administration or finance is highly desirable. Current unrestricted state licensure as Registered Pharmacist. Experience

Minimum of ten years progressively more responsible management experience in inpatient hospital pharmacy, preferably in a multi-hospital, academic medical center environment. Supervision

Supervises up to 6 direct reports. Supervises up to 150-200 indirect reports. Seniority level
