Overview
We are supporting an innovation-driven biopharmaceutical company with a clear mission: to redefine the treatment landscape for patients affected by rare and difficult-to-treat cancers. As the company expands its presence in Europe, the leadership of the Oncology Business Unit in Germany becomes a cornerstone for growth and long-term impact. We are seeking a seasoned and strategic commercial leader to take full ownership of the Oncology BU. This high-profile role carries full P&L accountability and offers the opportunity to shape the future of our client\'s German Oncology BU by developing, preparing and executing a long strategy for therapeutic areas, as well as representing the German Oncology BU within a dynamic, international environment. Business Unit Head Oncology (m/f/d) – Germany Your Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Business Leadership Define and execute the long-term strategic roadmap for the German Oncology BU, fully aligned with international and corporate objectives Own the full P&L for oncology operations in Germany, including commercial planning, budgeting, and performance management Serve as a senior member of the national leadership team, contributing to broader organizational strategy and transformation initiatives Cross-Functional Collaboration & Market Impact Partner closely with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Regulatory, and global stakeholders to ensure successful launch readiness and lifecycle execution Drive the development of data-driven commercial strategies to position therapies effectively in a competitive oncology market Represent the organization in strategic engagements with key external stakeholders, including KOLs, clinical leaders, and institutional partners Team Leadership & Organizational Culture Lead and mentor a high-performing commercial team, instilling a performance-driven, collaborative mindset Establish clear priorities, foster talent development, and ensure agile, empowered decision-making across functions Create an inclusive and accountable leadership culture that supports sustainable growth and innovation Operational Excellence & Governance Monitor strategic and operational KPIs to ensure ongoing performance tracking and rapid course correction Oversee the quality and compliance of all promotional and non-promotional activities in alignment with internal policies and external regulations Engage in regular business reviews and improvement initiatives to identify opportunities for efficiency and innovation Your Profile
Solid experience
in commercial leadership roles within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, ideally in oncology (solid tumors) Track record of driving commercial strategies, managing P&L responsibilities, and leading cross-functional initiatives Strong understanding
of the German healthcare environment, including pricing, reimbursement, and stakeholder dynamics Strong leadership presence : capable of inspiring, motivating, and developing high-performing teams while fostering accountability and trust Collaborative mindset : skilled at building networks, aligning diverse stakeholders, and driving consensus in complex environments Decisive and results-oriented : able to make informed decisions quickly and execute with focus and agility Excellent communicator
in German and English, with the ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels Resilient, organized, and adaptable : comfortable managing competing priorities in a fast-paced, evolving market Innovative and forward-thinking , with a track record of leveraging data, digital tools, and market insights to create sustainable competitive advantage Academic degree in Life Sciences, Business or related field; MBA or equivalent a plus What’s Offered
