The Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist is part of the management team and, as such, performs limited supervisory roles. Each Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist will be assigned a specific area in which they will become a subject matter expert (SME) and assist the remainder of the management team, including the Laboratory Director, Technical Director, Laboratory Manager, and Supervisor, in assuring the area achieves accurate, reliable, and timely testing service. Perform a vital part of the patient care process through moderate and high-complexity testing. Analyze, review, and report testing results. Recognize when corrective action is needed and implement effective solutions. Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment with biological and chemical hazards. Champion safety, compliance, and quality control. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology/Medical Laboratory Science or related science from an accredited program. Current active certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS/MT/CLS) or American Medical Technologists (AMT) as Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT). A minimum of four years of clinical laboratory experience in a hospital or commercial lab setting. Good computer knowledge (Word and Excel) and skills in lab information systems. Previous specialized experience in microbiology and blood banking is preferred for MT Sr. assigned to these departments. Additional requirements may apply in hospital settings (criminal background checks, health clearance, hospital compliance training). Successfully passed company Pre-Employment drug screen and periodic/random thereafter. Valid and current State of Hawaii license as a Technologist. Preferred/Bonus Points
