Job Title: Category Manager – Raw Materials
Role Scope
We’re seeking a Category Manager to lead strategy development and execution for raw material categories. This role drives supplier performance, contract management, and value creation while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders across the business. Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute category strategies aligned with multi-year value creation goals. Use market intelligence and spend analytics to identify cost savings, risk mitigation, and innovation opportunities. Negotiate and manage supplier contracts in partnership with Legal to ensure comprehensive coverage and value realization. Build and maintain strong supplier and stakeholder relationships, leading category council meetings and supporting supplier performance management. Support new product introduction, tech transfer initiatives, and resolution of supplier issues. Execute sourcing processes (RFx), supplier evaluations, and continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, life sciences, finance, or supply chain. 3–5+ years’ procurement experience with expertise in sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier management. 1–3+ years in biotech/life sciences industry. Strong knowledge of procurement processes; SAP/Ariba experience preferred. Familiarity with GMP manufacturing processes and regulations. Excellent communication, analytical, and presentation skills.
